In order for a company to clean the ventilation system correctly they need to spend 3-4 hours minimum at your house scrubbing all dirt and gunk inside your vents. The scammers will go to your house and spend maybe an hour and say that all your ducts are cleaned but this is impossible.
What is A Bait & Switch Scam?
When they tell you the cost to clean all your ducts will be $99 or $199 but when they arrive at your home and pretend to work they will tell you they found other issues inside if your ducts that require hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars more. This is one of the most common home service scams in the United States currently costing home owners millions of dollars each year.
Texas Requires Companies Have An HVAC Contractors License
In order for a company to clean your air ducts correctly they will have to cut into your ventilation system to be able to reach all the dirt and debris hidden inside. In Texas it is required that a company possess an HVAC contractors license. This is for safety reasons since your HVAC system has gas lines and high voltage wiring that help your system operate. If someone works on your system and they damage something the consequences can be deadly.
